In post-COVID San Diego, Sam Miller leaves the Marine Corp to discover his wife has divorced him, changed her phone number, taken their two children to another state, and emptied their bank accounts. Destitute, Sam searches for work and decides to renew his tall crane operator license though there is no construction work in the US.
